The annual National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC started last Wednesday while we were in town. I was hopeful to see at least a little bit of pink on the trees, but didn't get my hopes up, knowing that the peak bloom is predicted for the beginning of April.
I got lucky near L'Enfant Plaza and found some trees with budding flowers on them in the Enid A. Haupt Garden -- they were so close to blooming!
Or maybe they're not cherry blossom trees at all, but magnolias? Thoughts? Regardless, pink blooms! Spring!
