A Few Days in Washington, DC

Last week I decided at the last minute to tag along with Taras on his work trip to Washington, DC. He had already left me the week prior for a work trip to Germany and this pregnant lady missed her husband.

We miiight have gotten upgraded to a suite at our hotel. 700 square feet of pure bliss! We seriously love Kimpton Hotels.

Taras and I both love DC so much. This time around we saw more of the suburbs than of the city, but for one glorious evening and afternoon we were in DC proper and had the best time exploring a new-to-us neighborhood. Well, at least I had a good time exploring while Taras was working. :)

Every time we visit DC we find a new favorite restaurant (this time around it was Barcelona) or fun neighborhood. I always forget until I'm there how smart everyone dresses, how refreshingly diverse the city is, and how cute all the homes and little side streets are.

DC has been enjoying spring for a bit now. It was great to be in a city that was fully bloomed, to enjoy some hot weather, and to see the city so alive - everyone was on their bicycles and enjoying al fresco happy hours. We've had a few days up here that have been warm enough for those sorts of shenanigans, but this trip made me excited for what's still to come in these parts.

You can see other DC posts here.
